As the voice of the California Golden Bears, Justin is the play-by-play broadcaster for football and men's basketball.  Various other responsibilities include engineering broadcasts and emceeing at fundraising and gala events.  Justin hosts and produces weekly a podcast, Bear In Mind. 

Outside of Cal Athletics, he is a part-time broadcaster for the San Jose Giants (MiLB’s California League).  Justin adapts quickly, often filling in for the regular broadcaster, and provides insightful commentary due to his extensive background of calling baseball games.  He consistently provides fans with unique stories that connect them with the team and to the game, and prides himself on working seamlessly with all departments including marketing, the front office, the managers, and team. 

 

His experience has taken him beyond live sports, as he is a voice on Sony PlayStation’s video game, MLB The Show, for the past five installments reaching millions of fans worldwide. You can hear his voice host a recap and highlight radio segment called, Inside the Show.

 

Prior to Cal, Justin spent 10 years at San Jose State in a similar role. He has comprehensive experience in editing and production for live television, which included supervising and facilitating construction of  Radio Studio for student athletes use in NIL opportunities and mobile live sports production trailer. Justin produces, shoots, voices and edits, radio and television commercials for various uses on social media, local and national television.

In addition while at San Jose State, Justin was the Broadcast Producer, overseeing the LiveStream and TV production of other Spartan sports, press conferences, and interviews which air on the Mountain West Digital Network and NBC Sports Bay Area.

Radio voice for Football and Men’s Basketball. Produce and host weekly podcast. Engineer select radio broadcasts. Act as liaison for athletics to main campus and outside vendors. Emcee events and donor relation engagements

  • Voice Of The San Jose State Spartans (2013--2023)

Radio and TV voice for Football and Men’s Basketball.

Host weekly one-hour football radio coaches show.

Engineer all radio broadcasts including coaches show. Host, editor and producer of the weekly 30 minute San Jose State TV show. The Charge covers San Jose State Athletics and is aired several times a week on NBCSN Bay Area.

 

  • Sony Playstation MLB The Show Voice (2014--Present)

Radio show voice for MLB The Show video game.

Background voice in the loading menus of Road to the Show portion of the game.

 

  • San Jose Giants Broadcaster (2015--Present)

Radio voice for the San Jose Giants of the California League.

Broadcast select radio home games while the main Play-by-Play voice is on TV, and call middle innings of other select home games.

 

  • Broadcast Producer (2014 – 2023)

Coordinate and staff over 180 live stream sporting events, press conferences and special events for Mountain West Network per year. Produce, create and voice radio and television commercials for distribution. Manage social media and marketing strategies.

  • Apple Voice Over Talent (2017-2020)

 Provide voice over description for Apple commercial visual aide.

 

  • Fox Sports (2007 – 2012) 

 Worked specialty stats, generated graphics, also was field manager for Giants, A’s, 49ers, and Raiders broadcasts.

 

  • Broadcaster and Coordinator for American Collegiate Hockey Association DII National Tournament  (2010, 2011) 

Controlled 8 broadcasters and video crews for 25 games over 5 days.

 

  • Sports Radio 95.7fm The Game (2011)

Board op and studio producer for morning talk shows and Oakland A’s games.

  • ESPNU (2009)

    Produced news packages for ESPNU during Bay Area college football games.
